Halifax, NS – The African Diaspora Association of the Maritimes (ADAM), will be welcoming 27 out of 35 refugees at the Halifax Stanfield Int’l Airport on Tuesday, November, 20, 2018. These families are coming to Canada through the Blended Visa Office-Referred (BVOR) Program. ADAM and Universalist Unitarian Church of Halifax (UUCH) have been working on this process for the past 4months.

ADAM board members, UUCH and some volunteers would be the first point of contact for these families as they make Nova Scotia their new home. The arrivals will be as follows:

  • 20th , 2018, arrival of Twenty seven (27) refugees from Ethiopia
  • 22nd , 2018 arrival of Eight (8) refugees from Kenya
